Custom Websites & Portals

Custom websites, customer portals and web applications built around a defined business workflow, with clear scope, human project management and documented handover.

The decision

Start with one customer task that is difficult to complete today.

Decide who needs access, what a successful outcome looks like and which existing tools the workflow must connect to.

How the work holds together

Structure first. Visual polish with a reason.

01

Choose the experience your customers need

A public business website, booking flow, membership community or learning site needs different features from a private customer portal. We map the users, their tasks and the information they need before choosing a platform.

02

Plan custom features before development

Dashboards, authentication, databases, payments, CRM connections and AI widgets are quoted against specific requirements. Access rules, data handling, third-party costs and operational responsibilities are agreed before implementation.

03

Select a maintainable foundation

Depending on the project, the delivery approach may use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Astro, React, Next.js, Vite or WordPress. The choice follows the editing, integration and maintenance requirements, with the actual stack documented in the proposal.

04

Review the complete workflow

Your Project Manager coordinates review of the agreed user journeys, access controls and handover. Complex applications require a discovery and scoping conversation before a reliable price or timeline can be offered.

Scope signals

What the work needs to protect.

These requirements become review criteria, not decorative claims added after the design is complete.

  1. Business websites and landing pages

  2. Bookings, memberships and course platforms

  3. Customer portals and dashboards

  4. Database, authentication and integration projects

Working logic

Protect the foundation before adding more surface area.

  1. Audit

Map the users, their tasks and the information they need.

  2. Prioritize

Agree on features, integrations and third-party costs before development.

  3. Protect

Define access rules, data handling and operational responsibilities.

  4. Improve

Review the user journeys, maintenance needs and documented handover.

Questions

Before this becomes a scope.

What should I share to scope a portal?

Describe one customer task, who needs access and the tools you use today. We review the workflow and requirements before recommending a platform or quoting the work.

How much does a website cost?

A focused one-page website starts at $499 CAD. A typical five-page business website is approximately $1,499–$2,500 CAD. Larger projects are priced after we agree on the pages, content and features. Your written quote confirms the final price before work begins. Applicable taxes are additional. SiteGuys serves businesses in Canada and the USA. More pages, custom design, special features or moving an existing site can increase the price. Hosting, paid software and optional ongoing care are listed separately.

Can a portal connect to my existing tools?

Connections depend on your tools, APIs and account permissions. We confirm the data needed, who can access it and third-party costs before agreeing the integration scope.

How do payments work?

Under our standard payment option, after the written scope is agreed, 50% is paid in advance to begin. It is refundable if the agreed work has not begun and non-refundable once work begins, subject to applicable statutory rights. The final 50% is due after completion of the agreed scope and before launch, handover or release of agreed files and access. Easy monthly payment options are available. Ask us about a payment schedule for your project. For an agreed monthly plan, payment dates, launch and handover arrangements are set out in your written proposal.

Do I own my website?

The written proposal identifies ownership and transfer of the website, agreed source files, domain and accounts. Third-party software and licensed assets remain subject to their own licences. Optional care is not automatically required; any required service dependency is disclosed before approval.
